Kasper replaces Casper

Share
In keeping with Leeds United’s recent transfer policy, The Whites’ first summer signing was announced this afternoon, completely out of the blue. Kasper Schmeichel was unveiled at Thorp Arch as, presumably the clubs new number one.

An excellent acquisition on the face of things, Kasper is fresh from winning The League Two Title with Notts County, keeping 20 clean sheets in the process.  Having been released at the end of the season for financial reasons, the Dane was on the hit-list of many Championship clubs and will be seen by many as a real coup for Simon Grayson.

  A sight few could imagine
In an interview with LUTV, Kasper said "I've grown up in England, know a lot about English football, and I know Leeds is one of the biggest clubs in the country. There were other opportunities, but Leeds has everything, It's a massive club and has a massive fan base.”

Positive stuff, we will brush over the fact his Father is a legend over the Pennines.

Having been crudely linked with a recapture on Rob Hulse this morning, for a staggering £1.5M. Lets hope this is a sign that anything the press know about, carries no water… I wasn’t overly impressed with Hulse the first time around, now at 30 and following a major injury, lets hope we look elsewhere. Can he really do anything that Luciano Becchio is incapable of?

I await June 1st, like a kid at Christmas - who do Simon Grayson and Ken Bates have in store for us?
